Website rendering issues [SOLVED]

There are some horrible issues with the website/forums etc, where the blue background wraps around both the object with focus (and some other active objects in the browser view)  and around the cursor/mouse; this obscures the surrounding text. It also has an annoying pulsing.
I have tried both Edge and IE11  on a PC and Edge on my Smartphone and get the same effect; it occurs throughout the website.

I tried attaching  screen shot - but it isn't captured  - however it's not a graphics card artifact as it occurs on 3 different devices with very different graphics hardware.
I'll take a photo and upload that

Are you using Edge by any chance?

Edge has a known issue with CSS filters for now (see https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/details/2183975/ms-edge-css-filter-blur-rendering-issues  ).

As a temporary workaround while we fix the website (or even better, while Microsoft fixes Edge ), to fix this you can either turn off "Enable CSS filter property" in "about:flags" in Experimental Features or else try Chrome, Safari or FireFox.

Tried edge, IE11 and Windows Phone, but they may all use the same core HTML engine. Chrome is fine.

I checked again and I was wrong - it's only Edge and Edge on the phone that are affected. IE11 is fine.

The site was just updated. Hopefully you won't see any more rendering artifacts on Edge now.

Nice job; that's fixed it. Now if you could only help me with that  "Can't connect to the server " issue.
