Poll: What OS / Hardware do you use to run Skirmish! VT?

We are evaluating the feasibility of revamping the rendering engine of Skirmish! VT to make it a lot faster, support more features and (probably) support 3d models, but in a nutshell it might require a bump up the OS requirement from Windows 7 to 8.1/10.

So the question is, what Windows version do you use to run Skirmish! VT?
(If Windows 10 please specify if vanilla / November update / Anniversary update)
Also please specify if 32 or 64 bit if possible and the RAM of your system.
Oh, and if you can specify your Graphics Card + RAM, even better!

E.G. Windows 10 x64 (Anniversary Update) - 8GB RAM - ATI Radeon 290X with 4GB

In my opinion I'd love to see Skirmish! VT become more of a "Game" than a "VT" the 3d environments kind of sound like Ultima Online Kingdom Reborn from 2007, I've always wanted a graphical "Baldur's gate" where you can do even more with the gameplay. Divinity: Original Sin 2 will have a GM Mode one day which is going to be similar to what i'd love to have for a D&D Campaign, but if you guys keep up with Skirmish! I have got to say it will be hard to beat for a true D&D experience I've always wanted to have.

I'd say push it if you guys can, D&D fans spend tons of $$$ on books and VTT setups, it's just another way to play a game. VR is here and it's growing every day... It already seems you guys have broken the traditional "VT" look, I'd say go even further and knock down the whole wall!

Forgot to mention, I Dont mind that its windows only, but a linux or mac version wouldnt hurt, but i think the Devs should focus on windows until the get the program fleshed out and then port it over to other OS's

Frankly, I think porting to Mac / Linux is more important. I find it hard to find gaming groups that don't have at least 1 user without one of these. This is part of why Roll20 and MapTool work so well.

I understand your point and I do support eventually porting Skirmish! to other platforms but before we can port Skirmish! we have to make sure it works stable and efficiently on one platform. Once that is done we will think about which other platforms can be supported.
The biggest advantage of Roll20 and MapTool is that they're browser-based and as such every platform can run them. However, that is also their biggest disadvantage when it comes down to implementing more demanding or complex tech features.

Actually maptool is java based so it's OS independent. FG and d20pro are slowly moving to a unity back end for the same reason (though d20pro is also java based and is already multi-platform).

I can understand the issues involved, and can virtualize windows until there's a native port on Linux. Eventually it may come to a point where I can't virtualize it anymore so I'll end up with a virtual brick..

All my machines (and everyone I know) runs Windows 10.
We tend to use a Surface Pro 3 for teh DM and a Surface Pro 2 for the players (we all game at the same table) which connects to our horizontal 4K screen which we put our miniatures on.

Is Skirmish able to run on mobile devices? I'm trying to find an alternative site since to use mobile you have to pay on Roll20.

@Kerrigan not in its current beta form, but since the next version will be web based it will run on anything that has a browser (iphones, android phones, macs, windows, linux, etc)

@xavi , I just picked up the beta because it was server/client based, which is what I prefer. Is the plan to completely convert to web based? If so, will the current Client/Server arrangement still be supported?
