Servant of Shiloh's Skirmish Suggestions

Here are my personal suggestions Skirmish. This is what I have so far but will add to it as I get deeper into the guts and find something.

1. The ability to draw freehand lines instead of just snap-to lines on the map area. This will especially be useful when placing transparent walls and so forth.

2. At make transparent walls invisible to players. At the moment, I can still see the gray lines for transparent walls what I'm in player mode.

3. There needs to be a way that we can move the map with the mouse instead of just in the zoom window. Map tools has a to where you can right-click and drag to move the map around. That seems to be a quick and easy method instead of having to go to the zoom window to move to a certain area.

4. There should be a way for information to be attached to props. In addition, there should be a tooltips function. That way when a player hovers over a prop with their mouse, they will get some general information about that prop if any is available.

5. There should be a way to increase the font size in the chat windows. They are very small at the moment.

6. Being able to rearrange the windows to your preferred taste would be awesome. It's good that you can resize them but some windows I would want to have minimized and some I just wouldn't want to have open at all. First one that comes to mind is the zoom window.

7. Changing the order of the particular aspects under Appearance to the most important to least important. In my estimation, that would be:

  • Mini-Portrait
  • Full Portrait
  • Tokens
  • Token Scaling
  • Show Base
  • Alive Token
  • Dying Token
  • Random Dying

8. The token base needs to scale with the token. Currently if you scale the token to be larger, the base disappears underneath it.

I have a couple more but will delve into it more to see if anything else pops up.

Thanks.

Hi, thanks for your suggestions. Let's see...

    1. Already solved in the new version.
    2. In the beta you can turn off line visibility for players. Just click on the line options and choose "visible to player: no". Btw, you can manipulate lines (for example to open/close doors) by using CTRL + right click.
    3. In the beta middle mouse button + drag pans the map, but new control methods are already being worked on for the new version.
    4. Will be in the new version.
    5. The chat is completely revamped in the new version and works more akin to modern messengers.
    6. Need to talk to the coder but I think that is also already possible in the new version.
    7. Multiple filter options are a good idea.
    8. Actually the token is supposed to be bigger than the base because some monsters have wings or tails where smaller tokens may pass under. If you want the base to scale you need to manipulate the "token size" rather than the token scaling.

Awesome sauce that you guys are implementing some of the things already in the new version. Good to know that the line options are there to make them invisible as well as the way to move maps with the middle mouse. That's just as good than right-click and drag though right-click and drag is easier to me because I'm used to using it so much in Maptools.

LOVE your fog of war. Best that I've seen in a VTT, bar none.  The opening and closing of the door I've already tinkered with quite a bit.

I'm excited about adding things to props. Just makes life as a GM so much easier.

You got me excited about the new version. Got just a few more:

    1. Make token manipulation more intuitive in terms of placement. Have the ability to drag them from the left pane onto the map area as well as just deleting by highlighting and pressing delete.

    2. Have a password for joining the server.

    3. Have a way to attach custom state images to tokens (bleed, confused, dazed, knockback, etc). It looks like this is in the works but has yet to be fully developed. Under Attributes, maybe you could put a character state then a pull down menu of the different states where it will allow you to attach an image to represent that state. I have several states I'd love to be able to attach to characters like so:

You're probably already working on these but I wanted to throw it out there in case it isn't. Than ks.
