Actually the basics are already present in the Speak plug-in in the open beta. However, we plan to make it look more fancy (eg. speech bubbles or fallout 1-2 style) and the text color will match the assigned color of the character. It will also work with a distance modifier where characters further away will hear you only if you shout (write in capitals). Others may not hear you at all if too far away.
I like the sound of this idea. Perhaps the Bubbles could be customized to specific clients or forced to what the DM wants it to be. I haven't tried the Speak plug-in yet, but I'm just rambling right now of the ideas that come to mind. Like possibly attaching a sound whenever a token talks (ex. Zelda) or maybe multiple sounds based on the number of words present (ex. Undertale). I'll leave it at that cuss I could keep going.
To see how it currently works you can turn it on from the plug-in menu and write something in the "SPEAK" panel after clicking on a character. To be honest, we didn't think peole would dig it and only included it out of personal nostalgic reasons. But since we're not the only ones who like it we may go the extra mile to make it more than just a little side gimmick.
