Perhaps this is already obvious to you, but I think you guys perhaps need to put more effort into spreading the word about Skirmish.

Personally, I had never heard of Skirmish, I certainly didn't know there was a Kickstarter for it and came across it purely by chance.

However, now that I do know about it and when I look at the other VT's currently on the market, I think it's the most promising of them all.

I really like the way it looks and where you're going with it, especially in terms of the open modular structure, its possibilities for user made content/development and the potential it brings.

I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling this way, but people out there need to know that you exist. This is in my view the single most significant obstacle you face right now.

Sure, we who have discovered you can do our best to spread the word around, but you need to get more exposure wherever you can about your product.

This is especially true if you plan a new Kickstarter campaign, in order for it to become as successful and effective as it possibly can.

Perhaps I'm just stating the bloody obvious and you already have it all figured out, but I'm just asking that you don't make the mistake of completely relying on Kickstarter alone to spread the word, because you should aim for having a solid base of followers before you start it.

You have the advantage of already having a pretty solid and functioning product to showcase, so make use of that as much as you can. Contact as many RPG and boardgame related websites and podcasts as possible and try to get as much exposure you can prior to launching on Kickstarter.

I realize you're a small team and it might take a lot of development time away from you, but it will be worth it in the longer perspective.

It will help establish a solid base of supporters (and backers) from the get go, which is exactly the way many successful Kickstarters have done it.

Again, sorry if my comments are redundant or unnecessary, it's all meant in good will as I just want Skirmish to be the successful VT that it deserves. smile

Hi Knuckle, thanks and you're absolutely right. The free trial was opened mainly for the reason of gaining more exposure; to make people see what we have already achieved. Rest assured, we're working on getting the word before launching another ks since we know this was the main reason our first kickstarter didn't go as planned. :>
