Is there a way you could create an "Auto-Hide" option so the main tool bar on the left of the screen could be hidden with a small tab visible so when you run your mouse over the small tab, it shows the tool bar.
I'm in favour of that - and the same for other on screen items such as the overview map and especially the chat windows. Most of the time I want a full size map with nothing else showing for the players to interact with, with controls etc appearing only when needed.
So Chat, Log and Tools panels should minimise to a small icon (an option), clicking that opens them again. Updates in the chat/log panes could cause them to flash or to re-open.
I'd also like to be able to move the Overview map pane around - sometimes it's useful to have open, but covers an important part of the map - dragging it to a different positioning solves that.
Noted, the hiding shouldn't be too hard to pull off. However it cannot be done on "mouse over", but using a "click" since else there would be no way to unhide them on touch screens.
Agree re: mouseover - we redesigned our intranet UI for exactly that reason, switching it to a click/touch. I actually prefer that - mouseovers can be distracting and finicky
