Be able to 'rubber-band' Ctrl-click and Shift-click multiple items so that they can be moved, deleted, coped etc. as a bulk action. Even better, allow different types of item to be filtered on/off for selection; this would allow us to drag a band around many items on the screen, but only select, for example, the propos, or walls, or doors.
Thanks Simon! This sounds practical indeed but with the current version of the UI this could be hard to pull off. However, we're planning a revamp of the user interface to make it more interactive and I'll add your suggestion to that list.
There is a lot about the UI I like. It's mostly better than any of the other tools, but anything you can develop to make it easier/more intuitive /less intrusive/more immersive is very welcome. I'll keep add suggestions based on observations and feedback from our games
This will also help to make a group of hostiles become visible for the players. I currently have a setup where the enemy monsters are hidden in murky water and they will jump out when the group is close enough. Doing it one-by-one is a bit of a hassle.
More samples ... - A fireball explodes and kills several creatures. You want to change them quickly to dead posture, or another state. - A group of fighters move in a phalanx. - Swarms of individual creatures (rats, roaches, beetles, etc.) - The group uses dimension door to get to the other side of a creavace - etc
Hi guys, keep the ideas going :> As I replied to one of Kepli's suggestions most of these ideas could be enabled with the UI Revamp (which will make Skirmish! seem much less like a tool and more like an actual game) and the RPG Creator plug-in. Granted, coding the RPG Creator plug-in will be quite a piece of work but it would be one of the most powerful features because it practically enables Skirmish! to set up / automate rules of any game system you feed to it. You can find info on the features we plan to realize with the kickstarter campaign on the main site. Detailed infos will be available once we're getting close to the next ks launch.
Another way to select multiple characters/props should be using the list on the left. Use the Windows standards. CTRL-click to add to/subtract from the selection SHIFT-click to select/deselect all between the previous selected item and the one clicked.
Sample why I need this: I added about 50 skeletons before realizing I didn't set the hit points for the first one. I either remove all the skeletons one-by-one or select each individually and add the hit points. In both cases being able to select a group of items would be a bit help. Only works to change a setting for all of them to the same value. After that I found better tokens for them, but because of the time it takes to change that for each of them, I didn't do that.
