This is a little hard to explain, but we need some kind of map layers: for instance I have many images of building interiors, but these need to be laid on an exterior background so that the characters can approach the building form the outside, so in through windows and doors etc, even if the source image doesn't have this.
So, some kind of generic background, with a proper location image laid on top of it, with all of it able to be gridded etc.

With it you could even give generic buildings an interior with just a few simple clicks and even map out an entire town in a breeze.
Yes that might do it; the key thing is that we need to be able to load maps and assets on the fly, without having necessarily prepared them in advance in Photoshop etc. since players do the damndest things sometimes and end up in places where the DM has to wing it using unprepared assets. So i it can allow placement of maps within a larger canvas that would be great- if the world builder provides tools to further enhance that then even better.
Even cooler would be autogenerate interior details - so draw a room outline then choose a fill such as Tavern, Dungeon, Corridor and have fill it with textures and features.
